Association of Cultural Attaches of Latin America, Spain & Portugal (ACALASP) ‘Freshlatino’ is a group of fourteen Ibero-American architectural practices using video installations to publicise their work, which moves between contemporary art, performance and architecture, proposing a new way to approach the complexity of the contemporary city through interventions in public spaces.
‘Freshlatino’ is a documentary platform that creates links to both sides of the Atlantic, redrawing the map and creating a new cultural geography. Through a video that shows the work of several of the leading Ibero-American practices, a “sound collage“ that incorporates music, extracts from news programmes and a website, ‘Freshlatino’ intends to display new ways of expression in modern architecture.
From this the group aims to build a network of information exchange and co-operation for the development of alternative proposals focused on the understanding and projection of the Latin American, Spanish and Portuguese territories, based on the strategic use of new technologies, exploration of emerging systems against biodiversity and building a bridge of thought that seeks to materialise the contemporary Ibero-American identity.
