Parma University: Urban Relations Multiplier

Exhibitions and Installations
23 June - 4 July
Since it had been difficult to obtain the necessary permissions and to raise enough funds to proceed with the installation, an exhibition of the model and the design process drawings is held at the Better Bankside Pop Up Space, close to the place where the installation should have been built.

The proposal is the attempt to produce places
where encounters between people can take place.
Two wooden walls connected by a wooden floor
appear in the urban landscape:
you don't see what is on the other side
and your everyday life in the city
is enriched by mystery and expectation.
The small obstruction of the pavement's section
forces the pedestrian to change her/his way, and
forces her/him to reduce her/his speed, and, if s/he wants,
to stop for a while.
In a moment the pedestrian, who is generally unaware
of the people walking around her/him,
joints the other persons in a synaesthetic experience:
wooden walls, natural noises, contemporary music, etc..
