International Architecture Showcase
The International Architecture Showcase (IAS) will see more than 30 Embassies and Cultural Institutes around London presenting a series of exhibitions, installations, events and talks programmes to highlight the dynamic architectural projects that are emerging from their respective countries and to address the theme of the ‘The Welcoming City’.

The IAS is organised by the British Council and The Architecture Foundation, who are delighted to be working with a large number of international partners on such diverse projects. Shown within the context of the Festival they will provide a platform for dialogue in relation to the work of UK-based practices producing architecture for a welcoming city.

The IAS passport
For the first time the IAS will introduce an element of competition as visitors will be able to use their brochure as a 'passport'. Visitors will have their passports stamped with customised stamps at each of the 39 projects on arrival at the locations. Prizes will be awarded to anyone who collects over 30 stamps and those who collect the most will be entered in to a draw to receive six new architecture books, generously donated by Thames & Hudson. Look out for the passports at all participating projects and the NLA.

The Silver Pigeon award
This year will also see the launch of the inaugural Silver Pigeon award for the best project in the IAS. The award will be judged by a prestigious jury including Tom Dyckhoff (The Times) and Julie Lomax (The Arts Council) and the winner will be announced here on 2 July. The award has been designed by an architecture student at Nottingham University.
